  • All employees wanting to improve personal literacy have the privilege of attending any adult literacy class the Center hosts

What are our Plans for Community Outreach?

  • To Exhibit or model the value of literacy
  • To Educate the community through classes in English as a second language (or third in many cases in Kenya as most speak both their tribal language and the national language of Kiswahili)
  • To Enable the community student on a practical level of language mastery

What are the Potential Outcomes?

  • Increased literacy in the English language
  • Positive impact on the well-being of the community member
    • better employment possibilities
    • increased communication & interaction outside of the family & tribe
    • ability to further many aspects of education
    • ability to use electronic devices, read directions, books, etc.
    • heightened value on literacy for others, especially one’s children
    • increased sense of self-worth & independence
