Beatrice Oloo: Called to Equip Others
Student, Siaya County
My name is Beatrice Oloo, and I come from Siaya County. I am currently studying at Divine Providence Training Center (DPTC) in Matasia.
I realized some time ago that God was calling me into ministry. At the time, I was working in a hospital and struggling to balance my job with the desire to serve in full-time ministry.
Eventually, I made the decision to resign from my job and follow that calling. But I faced another challenge: I had no formal theological training.
That was when the opportunity came for me to attend DPTC, and I thank God for bringing me here.
My heart has always been to share the Word and the love of God with the people in my community. I have especially worked with women, widows and young girls, and together we have formed a group called God's Girls.
The training I am receiving at DPTC is already changing the way I serve. What I am learning is helping me understand how to lead and how to better serve the people in my community.
But I don't want that knowledge to stop with me.
We have already started Bible training groups in my local church, where I can share what I am learning and train others. Over the next five years, I want to continue expanding that work into other communities and counties.
My goal is simple: I want to make Jesus known.
I want to take the knowledge I have received at DPTC, share it with my people and equip others so that they, too, can share the Word and love of God in their communities.
