Sophalinas Victor Imboma: A Calling to Walk Alongside Others

Pastor

My name is Sophalinas Victor Imboma, and I have been a pastor for about seven or eight years.

I first felt God's calling on my life to ministry and to serve Him while I was still in high school. I was very involved in Christian Union activities and also served as a Christian Union pastor. It was during that time that I began to recognize that God was calling me into ministry.

The training I am receiving at Divine Providence Training Center (DPTC) is helping me strengthen that ministry and positively influence the lives of others.

One young man in our church had been struggling with drugs and was also involved in other behaviors that were leading him in the wrong direction. I began sharing with him what I had learned and walking alongside him through my ministry.

Over time, he gave his life to Christ. Today, he is part of the church and serving the Lord. Seeing that change in his life has shown me the difference we can make when we take the time to walk alongside someone.

I have served my church for about eight years, and we are still in the early stages of growing the ministry. One of our greatest prayers is that God will help us purchase land where we can build a permanent home for the ministry and be able to serve Him better.

I appreciate DPTC very much because the training is strengthening my ministry in many different ways. Here, I am learning alongside people of different ages and different levels of experience. Some have been in ministry for many years, while others are newer to ministry. Learning from those different experiences is valuable to me.

The knowledge I am receiving through this training is also opening my understanding of how God uses different people and how I can better prepare and equip others for the work of ministry.
